GivingTuesday Somerville: GiveLocal

So what is GivingTuesday?

GivingTuesday is the first Tuesday in December (this year that’s December 1!), and it is an annual global day of giving that helps to raise funds and awareness for important causes everywhere. In Somerville, 14 nonprofit organizations are joining forces to collaborate on a second-annual joint fundraising effort as part of the international GivingTuesday program.

GivingTuesday is more than just a single-day event. Leading up to December 1, each partner organization will be featured for a week by all collaborators.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the participating nonprofit community of Somerville. Funds are shared equally among participants. Help us get there!

Checks can be made out to Groundwork Somerville at 24 Park Street # 7, Somerville, MA 02143. Please put GivingTuesday Somerville in the memo line. Online giving coming soon. #GiveLocal

Trash Bash Sponsorship Opportunities Now Available!

Sponsor Trash Bash today!

Somerville has had the distinction of being home to more artists per capita than any other location in the United States.  Trash Bash is dedicated to that fact and was created to embody 3 Graces’ commitment to sustainability. Our event is a celebration of environmental sustainability, fostering local economies, and creating an equitable space for all to show off their artistic excellence! Additionally, in 2015 we are hosting Trash Bash as a fundraiser for Second Chances, Inc, to support their important work in Greater Boston.

Now in its 3rd year, Trash Bash is the first and only recycled arts competition in Somerville! First hosted at Arts at the Armory in 2013 (and Uniun Warehouse in 2014), we are moving on to a more collaborative competition this year. We are partnering with Aeronaut Brewing Company, and donating all profits to Second Chances, Inc. Trash Bash continually brings together dozens of local amateur and professional artists to celebrate sustainability, community, and art.  Artists come from all around Greater Boston, and range from kindergarten classes in Somerville and Medford, to local crafters who sell their wares at such locales as the SLF Local is for Lovers marketplace, to professional sculptors with shows all over the US.

This year, we are partnering with Second Chances in two ways.  Textile artists will used recycled clothing from Second Chances drop-offs to create beautiful new art. Artists will opt in to this opportunity, if they are interested!  Second, all profits from the event will go to Second Chances to support the amazing work that they do all over Greater Boston.

Local bands, Aeronaut beer tastings, the Local Foods Hub, educational workshops by sustainability-focused organizations, and of course an amazing recycled arts show, make this a premier Somerville community event. Jennifer Lawrence, co-founder and owner of 3 Graces Productions says this about Trash Bash: "This event showcases what is great about Somerville—creativity, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability. Our artists help to make Somerville the gritty, beautiful, neighborhood we all love to call home.”

Deadline for Sponsorship: October 10, 2015

Trash Bash sponsors enjoy far-reaching visibility as part of this creative venture that draws approximately 200 people through its doors each year.

Sponsorship benefits include:

Brand Awareness: Companies gain visibility at the event and through extensive online exposure in the months leading up to Trash Bash.

Press and Social Media coverage: Website and social media attention, which receive thousands of unique page views. Social media, including 3 Graces’ supporters on Twitter and Facebook, as well as those of our 75 artists and our two partners, Second Chances, Inc and Aeronaut Brewing Company.
